The act of combing hair is something that each of us does multiple times every day. Before going out, we always have to make sure our hair is neatly combed. Many people also have the habit of combing their hair before going to bed for health benefits. To fully utilize the benefits of combing hair for health or to comb hair correctly without causing damage to the hair, there are 5 taboos that everyone must pay attention to:
Taboo 1: Pulling hair all the way through
Combing hair all the way down can easily cause knots and pull out a lot of hair. The pain on the scalp is the biggest protest. The correct way to comb hair is to first hold a section of hair, straighten out the disordered ends, then comb from the middle of the hair towards the tips, and finally slowly comb from the roots to the tips.
Taboo 2: Not cleaning the comb
If a comb is used for a long time, it will accumulate a lot of grease, dust and other dirt on its surface. If it is not cleaned regularly, it is very likely to breed bacteria, which can infect the human body through contact with the scalp.
It is best to develop the habit of cleaning your comb regularly. Soak it in soapy water for 10 minutes, then use an old toothbrush to scrub each tooth gap one by one, and finally rinse it with clean water.
Taboo 3: Not combing the scalp
Many people only comb their hair without cleaning it, which is not conducive to removing dirt from the hair and does not stimulate the blood circulation of the scalp. The correct way to comb hair is to divide the hair into several sections, such as the top of the head, the forehead, and the sides, and then from the outside to the inside, reach the scalp, and comb gently. This is beneficial for transferring the sebum secreted by the scalp to the surface of the hair, forming a natural moisturizing layer, and preventing hair from drying out and breaking. The gentle movement of the comb across the scalp can stimulate the nerve endings of the scalp, having the effects of relaxing, relieving fatigue, and promoting sleep.
Taboo 4: Comb your hair before it is dry
This can easily cause the hair to irritate the stomach and damage the closed cuticle layer. In fact, we should comb our hair before washing it, and then wait for it to dry naturally or air-dry before combing it again.
